Emily Watterson was just an ordinary foster kid until she got turned into a mermaid and met a baby sea lion named Flippy. Now the two of them explore her new ocean home, getting into all sorts of problems and learning the great mysteries of life.

The project was originally going to be a graphic novel detailing Emily's transformation, her meeting with Flippy, and their first adventure in the ocean. After 3 years of development hell, the comics creator opted for a more flexible comic strip format.
